10 Tips
10 Tips for parents who go on a skiing holiday with children
1. As a parent it is important to prepare your child for the ski course. This means that you will tell your child how many days he or she will be in a course, whether it are half or whole days ski course, that you as a parent won't be there, and that it is important that they learn how to ski so that they can go skiing with their parents.
2. When you take your children in the morning to the ski course it is important not to stay to long. The longer you stay, the harder it will be to leave.
3. Good ski-equipment. Let the ski rental shop inform you about your options. Don't rent old equipment. Good new skis will promote the learning process.
4. Make sure your child will be fit for the first day in the ski course. Did you arrive the day before late in the evening, let your child start the next day in the afternoon or a day later with his or her ski course.
5. Rent or buy a helmet. Safety goes above all! We advice children as well as adults to wear a helmet when they go skiing.
6. It is better when the children join the group for lunch. First of all it is difficult for the instructor to set a specific time to meet for lunch with the parents. Secondly the group doesn't always eats in the same restaurant, because they are skiing through the entire Zillertal Arena area (only the groups that ski on the red slopes).
7. Children in the age of 3 to 8 years old will also learn by watching other children ski. Therefore it is not necessary to put your child in a private course. In a group course they will learn as much as in a private course and most of the time they have more fun in a group course.
8. Let our ski school office inform you, so you won't be facing any surprises according: meeting point, lift card, group classification, ski race, price-giving, kids disco etc.
9. Don't book for the little children an entire week of four hours a day ski course. The two-year olds can learn how to ski in a fun and playful way on plastic skis, fifty minutes a day. For three year old children you can choose two-hours a day ski course or our combi-offer. The combi-offer means the children will have two hours ski course in the morning and after that they will be brought to our Kidsclub where they can play under our professional care.
10. Really make the effort to look at the weather forecast. Is it a sunny day, it is very important you'll put sunscreen on your child. Will it be a very cold day (for example -20 degrees), make sure your child has enough and warm clothes on. Scarf, ski cap, waterproof ski suit, waterproof gloves and thermo underwear.
