Kinderland

Learning in a Safe Environment

The heart of our children’s ski school is Michi’s Kinderland — a designated practice area specially designed for young skiers. Here, children take their first turns on gentle slopes, with magic carpets (conveyor belts), cheerful figures, and colorful gates.

Thanks to this safe and playful environment, kids are more willing to try new things. Step by step, our instructors give them more independence, until they are ready for the real slopes.

International team

International Ski Instructors

A big advantage at Michi’s Schischule and her international Team.

For children, it’s a huge benefit when the explanation is in their own language — it makes learning not only easier but also more fun.

We also have an international team of instructors who speak German, English and Dutch, ensuring we can support every family, regardless of language.

Group Lessons and Private Lessons for Children

At Michi’s ski school, you can choose between group lessons and private lessons for children.

  • Group Lessons – learning together with peers

Groups are organized based on skill level and age, allowing each child to learn to ski at their own pace. When forming groups, we also do our best to group children who speak the same language together.

The group lessons usually last half or full days, filled with games, exercises, and of course lots of fun. At the end of the week, there’s often a small ski race or certificate ceremony — a highlight for the kids and a proud moment for parents!

    Advantages of group lessons:

    • Learning in a fun group with other kids
    • Lots of variety between practice and play
    • Motivation through friends and group activities
    • Easy for parents and instructors to follow your child’s progress
  • Private Lessons – maximum attention, fast progress

Do you want your child to receive extra guidance or make quick progress? Then a private lesson is the best choice. With one-on-one attention, the learning steps are faster and more confident.

    Private lessons are ideal for:

    • Extra confidence
    • Focus on individual needs
    • Refine technique
    • Learn faster
A typical day

What a Typical Day Looks Like at Michi’s Schischule

A typical day at Michi’s ski school begins with gathering at one of our meeting points. The instructors welcome the children and introduce the group. Lessons begin with a warm-up and playful balance exercises.

During the day, the children practice various techniques, with a short break if needed. Those who wish can also join the shared lunch, which can be easily added to the kids’ ski lessons.

At the end of the lesson day, parents meet their children again at the designated meeting point - and the young skiers can show off everything they’ve learned that day!

10 Tips

10 TIPS FOR SKIING WITH KIDS!

  1. Explain to your little ones how the ski lesson works – you’ll drop them off in the morning, they’ll practise on their own, and at the end of the week, they’ll show you what they’ve learned!
  2. Keep drop-off quick and cheerful – it helps the kids say goodbye with a smile!
  3. Good ski equipment – Get good, modern ski gear to make learning much easier!
  4. Make sure your kids are well rested. If you arrive late, it’s advisable to start ski lessons at midday or the following day.
  5. Helmets are a must – make sure to rent or buy one!
  6. It’s best for kids to stay with their group and eat lunch together – that keeps things relaxed. For advanced groups, lunch supervision takes place in various restaurants in the Zillertal Arena.
  7. Booking online guarantees your spot in the course.
  8. Get all the important details like meeting point, lift pass, group assignments, ski races, and events at the ski school office.
  9. For 2-year-olds, there’s a 50-minute mini carving session (max. 2 kids per instructor, bookable only on site). For 3-year-olds, we recommend a 2-hour ski course. Both can be combined with kindergarten care.
  10. Pay attention to the weather and clothing: use high UV-factor sunscreen and sunglasses when it’s sunny; wear warm, waterproof clothing in cold weather (scarf, helmet, hat, ski suit, gloves, thermal underwear).
